Job Summary:
Sherwood Park Veterinary Hospital is seeking a motivated and skilled Animal Health Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about animal welfare, demonstrates strong teamwork skills, and is committed to providing excellent customer service and patient care.
Main responsibilities:
• Assist veterinarians during examinations, diagnoses, treatments, and surgical procedures
• Perform technical tasks such as blood sampling, cytology, urine analysis and other laboratory work
• Take and develop X-rays, including dental X-rays
• Anesthetic induction, monitoring and recovery of patients
• Administer prescribed treatments and medications
• Maintain accurate and rigorous medical records
• Educate and advise clients on home care, nutrition, medication, and post-operative care
• Keep processing areas, equipment, and workstations clean and organized
• Work collaboratively with the team to maintain a professional and positive environment
• Adhere to the clinic’s protocols regarding hygiene, safety, and patient care
